Game 2: Islanders vs. Panthers — Panthers Fuel the Fire

Tonight’s game will be played under a fiery Moon in Leo, making life that much easier for the Panther’s to secure a win on home ice.

It’s true, both the NY Islanders and Florida Panthers are light on Fire Sign players (making up less than 15% of their rosters) but it’s the Panthers who make up for it with a heavy % of talented Air signs (over 44% of their players).  And when you add Air to a Fire… it’s fuels the fire!

Tonight for the East Coast Playoff match-ups, there is a brief contentious Moon quincunx Pluto. This wont help the Islander’s much either. While this influence lasts only 2 – 3 hours, it happens to kick in right at 7:30pm EST when the puck drops.  This will impact teams with lots of Scorpio influences and unfortunately for the Islanders… their Scorpion stinger is gonna back fire on them tonight.

Offense

Offensively the Panthers will be running a confident game. They will drive the pace and communicate extremely well not only on a per shift basis but as a team unit. Tonight favors Leo/Aries heavy Jussi Jokinen and  Reilly Smith who will be playing well above their regular season contributions.  Jonathan Huberdeau will be fired up with his Venus in Aries and Mars in Leo. I’d expect to see him taking confident shots on goal.

Jaromir Jagr is largely uninfluenced by tonight’s astrological aspects so he’ll perform at his usual level.  However Jagr does have Venus in Aries which means he’ll show more passion and expression on ice than normal.

Tonight’s energy is also favoring 4th liners Garrett Wilson and Shawn Thornton – they both have three planets in fire signs. They could be difference makers tonight if they get the ice time and defensive support.

The Islanders offensive roster is fairly Air sign heavy — they will come in with clear heads and ready to play. That said, they wont have as much of a leg up astrologically. Casey Cizikas and Kyle Okposo will be the most ready to step up their usual contributions and make this game exciting. John Tavares and Brock Nelson are ridiculously analytic players and while they don’t love fire, they love to feed the flames. They will most definitely create energy on the ice tonight. Not that John Tavares needs luck to be amazing, but it doesn’t hurt that his Jupiter is in Leo; meaning he attracts luck in his life. And when the Moon is in Leo, like tonight, you can bet he’ll create some “did he really just do that?” moments for the fans back home.

Defense

The only thing not working in Panther’s favor tonight is a fairly flat performance from the Defensives lines. Dmitry Kulikov’s will most likely not be feeling his usual feisty self which could throw off the reliable Aaron Ekblad, giving the Islanders some much needed scoring opportunities.  While these two often carry the line, tonight Brian Campbell’s Jupiter in Leo might give the Panther’s D a boost of luck. He’s just might be able to draw some PP opportunities, or capitalize on loose pucks to make some magic happen.

Defensively the Islanders will out perform the Panthers. Nick Leddy, Travis Hamonic, and Thomas Hickey will be feeling the Leo energy and create critical scoring opportunities for the Islanders. While Johnny Boychuk is usually the one to contribute to point scoring, watch for Calvin De Haan to find some lucky kicks. His Jupiter is in Leo which mean’s tonight he’ll attract luck and potentially make up for their lagging offensive plays.

Goalies and Coaching

The Islanders Goal Keeping could be a game winning decisions. It’s likely Coach Jack Capuano will start Tomas Griess. Which objectively makes sense. BUT tonight, Greiss has the potential to be too aggressive and explosive. It’s possible Griess could injure himself if he’s not careful. Conversely Jean Francois Berube is almost the dream goalie for tonight. If you had to pick a goalie based only on the planets in his chart and tonight’s aspects… you’d choose him. So if Coach feels Griess isn’t getting the job done, he’d be wise to quickly put in Berube. In fact, if he does, it could be a whole new game!

Not to add insult to injury but if the Islander’s loose, it’s worth looking “what if” scenarios. Steve Bernier & Marek Zidlicky were scratched tonight and both have loaded Aries/Leo charts. If they had played it could have been an entirely different outcome.

For the Panthers, Both Robert Luongo and Al Montya are both sitting pretty. They should be feeling the confident and eager to take their goalie abuse like men.

And The Winner Please…

This is the Panther’s to win. The Islanders will scrap and I might expect to see several PP opportunities and players get physical tonight.  But end of the day, the Air heavy Panther’s will add oxygen to the fire and blow the Islanders out of town.
