los angeles kings
The current LA Kings roster is Earth heavy averaging around 50%, with 30% of their players Capricorn. On the whole this means the Kings are not a super “Fired up” squad by default. This team values working hard, playing by rules, and executing to a plan. They believe that if you are the best, play like you practiced and bust your ass until you pass out – you’ll win. And they are right on many counts.

That said, Hockey season is a marathon not a sprint. And to make the playoffs, you need balance. Earth heavy teams require a lot of direction and aren’t, by default, creative or flexible enough to adjust their games to more unorthodox opponents.

The Kings are light on Water and Fire which makes it difficult for them to muster up the passion and raw emotion to stop playing from their brain and start playing from their heart. Darryl Suter, a not so subtle Leo, fills the role of no BS leader, but he may find he’s struggling getting his team to turn a sense of urgency into productive aggression.

The Kings have the potential to play fairly consistently night-to-night. Their challenge lies in avoiding complacency and finding the confidence to play outside the box on evening when the planets are favoring their Earthy composition. Also, they need to lighten up and remember why they played hockey to begin with… because it’s fun. I guarantee if they smiled more when they played... they'd start winning."
