San Jose Shark’s Coach Peter DeBoer is a Gemini. Gemini Coaches can be highly effective only with the right player allocation. This year’s San Jose Sharks roster is a good fit for DeBoer’s rookie year as Head Coach for the Sharks. The Sharks have a high % of their players in Water Signs -- the highest in the entire league. This mean their bench temperament operates heavily out of raw emotion. They have very little Air signs, which means they tend to do less planning & processing and avoid a slow methodical pace. The bulk of their Water/emotional players are on their defensive squad, making them physical and unapologetic. The team is not only emotionally "big" they are physically heavy, this combo creates a “bully” play style. For Coach DeBoer having so may eggs into one basket does create a distinct team “style” to work with. The down side is that there are less options/variations in players chemistry, attitude and willingness to change.

The way the Sharks win is by muscling their way through physical games and cramming their playing style down opponents throats. They will be beat primarily by teams with more balanced rosters who can change up strategies and throw off the Sharks in-your-face playing style. Fortunately for the Sharks, they are also backed by 28% Earth signs. These are the hard working, consistently performing Grinders. It’s these guys that will make up for night where the Moon wreaks havoc on the Water Sign players. It's their Earth and Fire players who in the end will give them a Series win, making up for off nights. However water is ruled by the Moon so any stretch of lunar activity can mean a stretch of bad or unpredictable performances. And for Coach Deboer it means he needs to use his Gemini smarts to recognize this mental temperament and not "hope it passes" but rather make adjustments and line changes quickly.
